Telephone Interviewing Techniques

During this 3 hour presentation, we will discuss and illustrate how to develop the subject’s “pure version” of the issue that is under investigation, and the process of asking clarifying questions regarding sketchy details, illogical or unexplained behavior, time gaps and people referenced but not identified.

We will also discuss the verbal and paralinguistic behaviors that are displayed by a person who is telling the truth during the interview, as well as those displayed by a person who is fabricating or withholding relevant information. Segments from real-life interviews will be played to illustrate the material.

At the conclusion of this segment of the program, the participant will have a behavioral model for both the truthful and deceptive individual that can be used for the evaluation of subjects in future investigative interviews.
