New Jersey Supreme Court Requires Police to Electronically Record Interrogations

In October, 2005 the New Jersey Supreme Court issued a new set of rules which will require police agencies to electronically record homicide interrogations beginning in January 2006. This requirement will expand in January 2007 to include interrogations involving arson, robbery, burglary and sex, drug or weapons crimes punishable by more than five years in prison.
